Naked Penguin Boy Strike "Gold" with "The Gilded Seal".

Digital Creative Agency Naked Penguin Boy www.nakedpenguinboy.com were commissioned by Harper Collins Publishers to build a microsite to promote the release of The Gilded Seal, the third novel in the Tom Kirk series by best selling author James Twining.

NPB created a microsite www.thegildedseal.co.uk comprising various elements that promoted the release in a fun, engaging and interactive way for both fans of James Twining and the Crime Thriller genre. The microsite was successful in meeting digital marketing objectives as well as providing entertainment value for users.

NPB achieved the above by kicking their digital creativity and game development prowess into over-drive with the creation of an interactive game, where the player must navigate around the Louvre to steal Da Vinci's "The Madonna of the Yarn-winder". The player also needs to collect 6 hieroglyphs along the way in order to escape from the museum at the end of the game, all the while avoiding breaking the infrared security beams.

To maximise user engagement and awareness of the microsite exponentially, NPB Media www.npbmedia.com the Marketing and PR division of NPB created the online marketing strategy and facilitated a partnership between Storm London and Harper Collins Publishers.

The partnership gave birth to the competition element of the microsite, where users were given the chance to win one of five Storm watches and a copy of the novel. As part of the online strategy, NPB Media secured several online promotions and news features with major entertainment and book related websites.

In addition, NPB Media also created viral success with the microsite by seeding the game and the competition on targeted websites across the net and subsequently gaining over 60,000 hits to the microsite.

The microsite provided users with a fully interactive digital platform where they could learn more about the book, the sponsors and share their experience with friends.
