NPB Media were commissioned by Paramount Home Entertainment's Catalogue Division to create an online PR and Marketing campaign to promote the debut DVD release of the major award-winning British tale of rebellion and revolution: "IF..." by Lindsay Anderson.
Surreal, highly controversial, and bloodily anti-establishment, "IF..." was made to shock. Filmed in 1968, at the time of the Paris student uprisings, this acclaimed trailblazing film won accolades at the time of its release and continues to pull in plaudits more than thirty years later.
NPB Media's focus for this PR & marketing campaign was specifically cult movie fans. As influencers, this core target audience would generate interest around the release and among their peers through their large social networks and forum involvement. Therefore, NPB Media capitalised on the classic/cult features of the film and highlighted the "collectability value" of owning one of the most famous British cult movies.
NPB Media aimed to dominate the sphere of movie related websites with coverage to give the title a wide but targeted awareness. Moreover, NPB Media continued to spread the word by starting online debates on the advantages of purchasing the UK title compared to the US version. We used natural seeding techniques across the net to create a buzz around the release and emphasise the exclusive Region 2 features on the DVD; namely Oscar winning documentary "Thursday's Children".
